Another original from the Obst Press:

'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the stars,
Many creatures were stirring, primarily 'round Mars.
The ships were grotesque as they hung in mid space.
(They watched our Pathfinder roll right past their base.)
Their alien offspring were sealed in their probes
while plans of invasion danced in their lobes.
Their leader commanded phase one of their plan.
The troops were all ready. The countdown began.

When, all of the sudden, there arose such a clatter.
Their sensors showed nothing, but that didn't matter.
The fleet raised their shields, and each one armed its gun,
But the noise kept on shrieking, and they started to run.
They searched every level. Their weapons were drawn.
They thought to themselves, "What the heck's going on?!?"
And then, on the bridge of their giant lead ship,
A bright flash of light made their alien hearts skip.
